Honoraria and Memorials
Recognize a woman who has made an impact on your life with a gift to the Dallas Women’s Foundation in her honor.
Giving Circles
Book clubs, college roommates, investment clubs, colleagues—women all over the country are pooling their money to create social change through Giving Circles and other charitable gifts.
Giving Circles are social investment clubs organized around a particular issue or area of interest. The Dallas Women’s Foundation hosts giving circles focused on helping women and girls realize their full potential in a variety of ways.
The benefits of Giving Circles:
- Pooling charitable investment has a far greater impact than smaller, individual gifts.
- Researching, talking to experts, reviewing grant applications, and going on site visits to agencies provides an in-depth understanding of community issues and allows Giving Circle members to connect with their philanthropic priorities.
- Becoming Giving Circle grant makers empowers the group to be strategic in charitable giving.
- Donors are creating change and deepening their connections with one another and the community.

Endowment Giving
A distinguishing feature of the Dallas Women's Foundation is its permanent endowment, which now stands at more than $10 million. Donors may earmark their gifts to the endowment, thereby ensuring an enduring financial institution for women and girls in our community. Endowment funds may provide general support for the Dallas Women’s Foundation or may be designated for a particular purpose, such as the Faith, Feminism, and Philanthropy fund. These assets include donor advised funds, field of interest funds, and designated funds.
Donor Advised Fund
Donors give cash, stock, or other assets to the Dallas Women’s Foundation to establish the advised fund. The donors are able to recommend how to distribute the funds, and can claim a charitable deduction for their gift.
Many individuals and families consider establishing a Donor Advised Fund as a training opportunity before committing to establishing a private foundation.

Designated Funds
These funds provide lasting support for purposes you designate. In setting up a donor-designated fund, you may designate a local agency or group of agencies to receive annual grants from your fund. Or you may choose a cause you care about, such as health or education, and the Foundation will make grants from your fund to address these needs every year. If the need ceases, the fund income will be redirected to a similar program.
Field of Interest Funds
These funds support a particular area of concern, such as domestic violence, education, or childcare. The Dallas Women's Foundation's Board of Trustees awards grants from the income of the fund on the basis of competitive applications to the most appropriate programs or organizations within the field specified.
